Hours

We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm and see patients by appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome but some may have a long wait. We do take emergencies and request that you call to say you are on the way so that we can be prepared for your arrival. Weekend appointments can be made by special arrangement.

Emergencies

We do see emergencies during regular business hours and can often see emergencies that occur after closing if you manage to call before we leave the building. Otherwise you can choose from several emergency services that are open nights, weekends, and holidays. Emergency medicine is differs from regular veterinary "day practice" and using an emergency hospital offers several advantages: They have special equipment and medications that regular practices might not have. They are open and have doctors and staff present all night to monitor and provide care. Because they are accustomed to dealing with emergency situations they can triage and anticipate the rapidly changing demands of emergency patients. Our clients have been pleased with the following facillities:

University of Florida Pet Emergency Service (3200 SW 27th Avenue, Ocala,FL 34474) Telephone 352-512-0886

Animal Emergency of Hernando (3496 Deltona Blvd., Spring Hill, FL 34606) Telephone 352-666-0904

Blue Pearl Veterinary Specialists (3000 Busch Lake Blvd., Tampa, FL 33614) Telephone 813-933-8944

Financial Considerations

We expect payment at the time services are rendered and accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Nowadays the veterinary profession offers very sophisticated diagnostics and treatments and sometimes the costs of caring for an unexpected illness or injury become difficult to afford. Here are some suggestions you may want to explore:

  • For payment plans we suggest Care Credit. This is like having a credit card for your pet's care that you only use when you need it.
  • Our Wellness Plans involve a recurring monthly payment that, over the course of a year, will cover all the routine vaccinations, annual physical exam, heartworm testing, stool checks, and, depending upon which plan is chosen, one or more "sick visits".
  • Pet Insurance is medical insurance for your pet. There are a lot of companies that can be compared in an online search and it is important to read the details of each one as they are very different from one another. We suggest considering Pet Plan and VPI insurance in particular.
